"The emphasis on treating people fairly and with kindness extends beyond organizational benefits. It speaks to the broader narrative of creating a harmonious and supportive community, both within and outside the workplace.

In essence, embracing this transformative movement is not just a professional aspiration’ it is a commitment to shared values that resonate with the fundamental principles of equality and world peace. By collectively taking steps in this direction, we not only enhance the workplace experience for all but also contribute to a larger societal paradigm shift that prioritizes humanity and understanding."

Why Sign the Pledge?

The Transforming Workplace Opportunities Initiative is not just a program; it’s a movement to inspire workplaces to dream big and lead with purpose. As part of the initiative, WIL will host events and workshops across Canada, designed to help employers reimagine their hiring practices and create an inclusive human resource framework that encourages women from all backgrounds to pursue leadership roles. A dedicated Indigenous Lead will guide employers in this journey through an advancing reconciliation-focused approach, bridging the gap between inclusivity and cultural sensitivity.

Through this pledge, organizations are encouraged to:

  1. Creating an inclusive work culture: Foster an environment where everyone feels valued and included.

  2. Continuous improvement in organizational policies and procedures: Enhance organizational policies, practices, and processes through ongoing education and improvement.

  3. Providing education and training: Equip your team with the knowledge and skills to support DEIB principles.

  4. Promoting equal and accessible opportunities: Ensure fair access to opportunities for all employees.

  5. Addressing harassment and discrimination: Take action against any form of oppression within the workplace.

  6. Supporting work-life balance: Encourage a healthy balance between work and personal life.

  7.  Accountability and transparency reporting: Report openly on your DEIB initiatives and progress.

Together, we can bridge the equity gap and create a more inclusive workplace for everyone.
