Women in Leadership Joins Canada Service Corps Initiative to Empower Youth

Women in Leadership (WIL) is proud to be among the non-profit organizations selected for the federal government’s newly expanded Canada Service Corps (CSC) initiative. With a historic investment of $200 million, the initiative aims to create 20,000 volunteer service opportunities for youth aged 12 to 30 across Canada over the next three years.

Unveiled by Minister of Women and Gender Equality and Youth, Marci Ien, this funding will support 85 impactful projects designed to equip young Canadians with skills, experiences, and opportunities to make meaningful contributions to their communities. These projects focus on critical themes such as reconciliation, inclusivity, environmental, preservation, civic engagement, and resilience.

Since its launch in 2018, CSC has facilitated over 52,000 volunteer opportunities through more than 200 projects, empowering youth to lead, grow, and drive change in their communities. This expansion builds on the success of the program, ensuring wider access to service placements and micro-grants that enable youth-led community initiatives.

Women in Leadership is excited to play a key role in this initiative, focusing on advancing reconciliation and inclusivity while fostering leadership in young Canadians. The organization looks forward to collaborating with CSC and other partners to shape the next generation of leaders, helping participants gain workplace-relevant experience and build stronger, more inclusive communities.
