WIL Kelowna, one of our organization’s newest Chapters, has been busy planning for the first official event to take place in November. The Kelowna team has been developing local partnerships and building a community of like-minded individuals. Be on the lookout for our Coffee Connect series which will bring together females from the Okanagan region to grow mentorship opportunities and bring women leaders together.
Our 2020 schedule of events is filling up quickly. The 2020 WIL Speakers Series will kick off with a Women in Leadership and Diversity Forum planned for March 11. Along with being one of the Worlds top Wine producers, the Okanagan is becoming a hub for technological innovation in Canada, making Kelowna a perfect location to host the Women in Leadership Tech Forum. On May 7, 2020 we will hold a Tech Forum attracting women working in the IT sector to engage and learn from each other, and to foster networking with fellow industry professionals.
WIL represents individuals and employers alike and we regularly work with organizations to promote gender diversity. The WIL Best Employer for Women Program is working with businesses in the Okanagan region to demonstrate the value of having a diverse workforce, and to assist in recruiting female workers to their organizations.
