Celebrating International Women’s Day: #ChoosetoChallenge
International Women’s Day, March 8th, is a day for celebrating women’s economic, political, and social achievements and reflect on the progress made throughout our history. It is also a time to call for action to issues, biases and inequities that women continue to face. The day began in 1908 and grew out of the labour movement with women campaigning for better working conditions, better pay, and voting rights.
We are committed to breaking down barriers impeding women’s progress to give them every chance to succeed. Having a more inclusive and diverse workforce is important to us and we need more women in leadership to affect change. We need to support each other. We are helping women have the confidence and opportunities to pursue positions of leadership and help employers hire, grow, and support a diverse workforce.
Our organization has had the most inquiries to-date during this past quarter and we are really excited that there is so much support for women. From organizations and government partnerships, dedicated staff and volunteers, attendees at our virtual events, mentors and facilitators in our programs, and being part of the WIL community, we are extremely grateful for your support. Knowing the positive impact we can make is so inspiring. Today, we celebrate you for making a difference every day - Happy Women’s Day to all!
