About the Event

A keynote discussion with Lisa LaFreniere as she speaks about her peacekeeping experience as the Deputy Contingent Commander in Ukraine up to and during the Russian Invasion.

Lisa LaFreniere – Inspector, Saskatoon Police Service (Retired)

Manager of Enforcement and Investigations, Ministry of Finance

Lisa LaFreniere has over 30 years of policing experience and retired at the rank of Inspector with the Saskatoon Police Service.

Throughout her career she has held a variety of operational, investigative and leadership positions as she rose through the ranks of the service.

Lisa was fortunate enough to serve in two overseas peacekeeping missions in Ukraine prior to her retirement in 2022. The second deployment saw her navigate the evacuation of Canadian mission members into Poland days before the invasion by Russia while performing her role as Deputy Contingent Commander. Prior to the invasion, she facilitated training delivery to Ukrainian Police officers throughout the country.

Lisa was the 20th female police officer hired with Saskatoon Police Service, and the second female to achieve the rank of Inspector. During her career she took on additional roles such as Undercover Operator, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Crisis Negotiator and Critical Incident Commander. She is a proud member of the Saskatchewan Women in Police Advisory Board and looks forward to supporting the advancement of women in law enforcement.

Upon her retirement, Lisa realized she still had more to offer and for the last year, she has been managing a team with the Enforcement and Investigations Unit with the Ministry of Finance.

Limited spots available for the live session. All who register will recieve a recording of the event.
